Sales, Pickup & Return Policy

Thank you for supporting our small farm! Because we specialize in live animals and fresh, perishable agricultural products, we adhere to strict biosecurity and safety standards. Please review our policies below carefully prior to completing your purchase.

All Sales Are Final (No Returns or Exchanges)

At Ferentinos Family Farms, we take immense pride in the quality, health, and integrity of everything we produce—from our carefully raised heritage poultry to our fresh farm products. To maintain the highest standard of health security and food safety, we enforce a strict no-returns and no-exchanges policy on all purchases. Once an item has left our physical possession at pickup or delivery, the sale is permanent.

CRITICAL BIOSECURITY NOTICE: To protect our flocks from outside pathogens, avian diseases, and environmental contaminants, we absolutely cannot accept any live birds or farm products back onto our property once they have departed. There are no exceptions to this rule.

Mandatory Inspection Prior to Purchase

Because all sales are final, customers are required to fully inspect all items at the time of farm pickup or local delivery prior to finalizing the transaction and departing.

Live Poultry (Chicks, Started Birds, Breeding Stock): You must examine the physical condition, alertness, and overall health of the birds alongside a farm representative. By accepting the birds and leaving the pickup area, you acknowledge that they are in excellent health and fit for your flock. We assume no responsibility for their health, adaptation, or management once they leave our care.
Fresh Farm Eggs: You are required to open and inspect egg cartons prior to taking possession to ensure shell integrity, cleanliness, and that no cracking occurred during handling.

If you identify any issue or are unsatisfied with the condition of a bird or product during this inspection, we will gladly address it on the spot by replacing the item (subject to availability) or adjusting your order before the sale is finalized.

Shipping Policy

Please note that Ferentinos Family Farms does not ship any products. All orders placed online or via direct reservation must be fulfilled via pre-arranged scheduled pickup at our farm in Francisco, North Carolina, or via our designated local delivery options. Any orders placed expecting postal delivery will be canceled or held for farm pickup.

Subscribed Members' Pasture-Raised Meat Policy

While meat products are not listed publicly for general sale on our website, these terms explicitly apply to our private, subscribed farm members receiving seasonal meat shares:

All custom or subscription meat orders are processed and packed under rigorous sanitation standards.
Meat shares are sold entirely on a final, non-refundable basis.
Members are required to verify the secure packaging, vacuum seal integrity, and frozen/chilled temperature of their meat allotments at the moment of hand-off.
Because we cannot verify external cold-chain storage conditions once an order leaves our hands, we cannot offer refunds, credits, or exchanges on meat products after pickup or delivery.

Order Cancellations & Unclaimed Pickups

If you need to cancel a reserved order or adjust your scheduled pickup date, please notify us at least 48 hours in advance. Orders that are unclaimed within 48 hours of the scheduled pickup window without prior communication may be canceled without a refund, as perishable slots and live animal care scheduling are strictly managed.
